Region C and D rotate. This year Region C hosts the D2 while Region D hosts the D1. Next year, it will switch.

I don't think they've used UVA Wise for the playoff games before though. Usually the Region champion has home field advantage. I believe the principals agreed to try it at UVA-Wise this year. I personally would rather see the games at the high schools.

Burton used the college field 2 years ago when they hosted Region C.

I think having the Region D there is the best idea. Top notch facility, 2 games. Couldnt be better.

I'm looking forward to it also. I'll be there taking pictures of the Burton-Appy game. I'll probably go early and watch some of the PV-Clintwood game too.

I'm going to try and watch both games as well. It depends on how cold it is.

Appy i think was the first team to use, UVA-Wise's field when they played Bath Co. here in 02.
It was the largest crowd to attend a game in the stadium at that time.
I think the field house was just awarded to be built.
As far as the game. I hope it's cold. And the field is like it was the day Appy played Bath Co.
If i remember correctly they had to shovel snow and ice off parts of the turf about 2 hrs before the game.
It made it seem more like a championship game and atmosphere, much better, than going to the neutral site, in Harrisonburg. Which is really neutral ain't it. I remember when Appy and WC met. They had an hour or so drive. While most from here had to drive 5 or 6 hrs. Yeah that neutral alright.

Yeah, I know schools have used UVA-Wise before, but I can't remember both D1 and D2 games being played there on the same day.

Facilities are great, but the location is not that great for all the teams in the Region D. It is convenient if you're living in Wise County, and it's not a long drive from Clintwood. But, you've got other schools in the Region from Buchanan County and Russell County.
